Welford Park Cricket Club Constitution

Title

The cricket club shall be called WELFORD PARK CRICKET CLUB.

Objectives

The objective of the club is the promotion, advancement and protection of cricket within the local area.

Committee and Offices

The club shall be run by the officers of the club being Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixtures Secretary and the elected captains and vice captains of all the clubs senior sides.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM will take place in November each year at a time set by the Chairman of the club. Notice of the AGM with Agenda will be circulated at least 21 days before the date of the meeting. Proposals can be presented to the membership at the meeting with only those present eligible to vote. Voting will be by show of hands and a simple majority is required for the proposal to be passed. The Chairman shall exercise his discretion if a ballot is requested.

Extraordinary General Meeting

An Extraordinary General Meeting may be contravened at the discretion of the club committee or on receipt by the committee of a request by 5 members of the club. Notice of such a meeting, with agenda, shall be circulated to all members at least 14 days prior to the date of the meeting. The rules governing voting and attendance at the AGM will apply. No other business except that indicated on the agenda will be dealt with.

Membership

Membership of the club is open to all with annual subscriptions due to be paid by 31st May each year.

Accounts

A bank account, and any other account which is deemed necessary, shall be kept in the name of Welford Park Cricket Club at a bank or building society approved by the club committee, into which all monies received on behalf of the club shall be paid by the treasurer or other officials responsible. The accounts of the club shall be kept by the Treasurer and presented to the members at the AGM. The financial year for the purpose of the annual accounts shall be 30th September of each year.

Winding Up

In the event of the club being wound up, a final statement of accounts will be prepared and audited. If these accounts reveal a deficiency every member of the club at the date of winding up and every member who ceased to be a member within a year preceding the date of winding up shall be contribute equally to clear the deficiency. Any surplus will be given to a similar sporting body in the area.
